Production
It´s very important to say that The Resolution as independent movie is not supported by any state funds, organizations or companies of any type. It´s completely financed only by few independent film studios. Budget of the movie is less than 1 mil. czech crowns (less than aprox. 50 000 USD).
The Resolution is actually not supposed to be compared to 30 mil. productions. (for example in czech press, this happens sometimes, on one hand it´s pleasant, on the other hand it´s confusing).
Also the concept of financing and producing is connected very much with the basic idea of control, dominance, power and mainly resistance to be controlled!
Since we are living in the era of mediocracy, here comes the question if the film itself as medium can be actually so free as we presume it is, or if it needs to be still depending on organizations and companies which gives amounts of money for it and which usually wants something back from it – usually a promotion. After saying those words, there remains the question for me.. what does it really mean.. INDEPENDENT FILM? And what is the real RESOLUTION then?
From this point we can now more understand the whole concept of creating the movie.
This film gives an honor and respect to Hollywood movies, but in the same time it makes fun of it.
It´s connected for example with choosing mainly non-actors for the film.

The whole postproduction was connected with the idea of bringing together filmmakers and creative contributors from the all over the world.
That´s why there came 6 music composers for Resolution – needless to say that they didn´t know about each other. Enrico Cervi from Italy, Marko Hautamäki from Finland, Leon Portelance from California and 3 other czech composers – they were all composing concrete music for concrete scenes without knowing the complete result, not even knowing the complete screenplay.

In 2007, Studio Six Film Sound from Boulder, Colorado, with chief sound designer Andrew Smith, took over the task of audio post-production including a final 5.1 mix.
